ANNELI:
THE REASON OF A-HA'S SUCSESS?
On
Saturday a-ha's Minor Earth | Major Tour
will finally reach Norway. With great success in Japan
and Germany last year, a-ha and Anneli had
to deal with sold out shows again earlier this week
- This time in Russia, and today they will
do one concert in Estonia. Dagbladet
went to see a-ha in Moscow on Monday,
and ascertian it's reason for the Norwegian fans to
look forward to the shows in Oslo this weekend. And
Anneli is for sure welcomed by Dagbladets
critics:
"A
moment of pure goosepimples arises as Anneli Drecker
enters the stage [during «I Wish I Cared»], taking
over the chorus from Harket. Drecker is a very welcome
new addition to a-ha live, and together with musicians
Christer Karlsson, Per og Sven Lindvall, soundguru
Sven Persson og lightdesigner Jojo Tillmann, she is
a major reason for a-ha's newly found stamp as a quality
live act.
And when Magne, Paul, Morten and Anneli play an unplugged
version of «Stay On These Roads», the audience takes
off at last. The sound is so melancholic, but the
Russians respond with roaring ovations. a-ha unplugged
is a great idea, and the following «Early Morning»
creates an intimacy and a nerve the show has been
lacking so far. During «You'll Never Get Over Me»
Harket again receives great vocal assistance from
Drecker."
Wow!
