FIRST REVIEW OF "DOROTHY'S VICTORY"

MEGET BRA: Very good, first
review
|
The
first review of Bel Canto's "Dorothy's Victory"
has seen the light of day in the monthly magazine Natt&Dag.
Harald Grenne praises the album and rate it "Meget
Bra", or "Very Good", the second best on
their scale.
THOMAS
OLSEN
He
writes that everyone aimes back to the 80's now, but that
Bel Canto is not doing the early days once again; "The
single "Feels Like I'm Already Flying" could have
been Eurythmics or Yazoo, and "You Rock My World Tonight"
is pure Roxette (what else with that title?!). Fun."
But
the mood changes; "Disappear Club 5" is Bel
Canto-pop of the modern, rhythmic club oriented kind, a
golden track forged in collaboration with Torbjørn
Brundtland (Röyksopp) (
) On "Night Lady"
the highly respected icequeen Drecker appears again,
where the Bel Canto magic is back, more or less through
the rest of the album."
Grenne
also mention specially the three last tracks; "Here
the duo capture a kind of timeless European elegance, a
noir-ish, mysterious beauty which circles around the delicious
last track "Ladonia" where Anneli sings in German
like she was an blue angel."
Natt&Dag
is a free magazine distributed in all the major cities of
Norway. You'll find it in record- and clothes stores, restaurants
etc. The March edition is out now.
"Dorothy's
Victory" will be out on March 18, in Norway
