| Even though the city celebrated
Norway's 100 years of independence from Sweden, with a free
concert including some of the hottest Norwegian artists in
the city center of Oslo, a lot of people still had found their
way to Blå to see Anneli and The Frolics debut. But
the show was far from sold out.
Even so, the intimate concert, with friends, colleagues
and fans present was still a huge success.
The band had been rehearsing for a couple of weeks, and
everything worked out very well on stage. The material offers
something for everyone, from the almost naked and acoustic
"All I Know" and "My Emily", experimental
and intense "Fire Alarm" and "Monkey Trap",
to pure party feel with "Desire", "Sexy Love"
and "Stop This" Anneli also included two unreleased
songs in the set; The electronic and haunting "Life
is Lonely", and the groovy "Friday Night".
But some of the well known songs had also got a fresh touch
of re-arranging.
Next Anneli and band will play the Mandela concert in her
hometown Tromsø.
- I'm very nervous about that. It will be 12000 people
there! But I should be used to it, Anneli laughs when we
asked her about it after the show at Blå. She's been
playing in front of crowds like that with both a-ha and
Röyksopp before.
We will publish a video-interview
with Anneli shortly.
